English Language Learner class entered
An essential part of my English as a foreign language, students are class's recognition of their different interests. While here in Colombia, the diversity of entertainment available is rather limited compared to other countries, in large part (sometimes a majority) of EFL students 'free time' spent in each type of sport. The question then is how to express correctly and accuratelyParticipation in various sporting activities. English (U.S.), for the most part we use to go for verbs, and PLAY for this purpose.
With the verb "GO"
In general, if the name of a sport with the suffix "-ing" at the end, the verb is used to take part in the Sport Express "GO". For example, you "go":
or climbing
or swimming
O Dancing
O Hiking
Running O
O Fishing
Or diving (scuba diving, sky or cardboard)
O skating (ice or roller)
O Bungee Jumping
Or Skiing (water or snow)
or Hunt
With the verb "DO"
On the other hand, 'individual' sport is usually expressed as "DO". For example, "do", you can:
or judo
or karate
or lifting weights (an exception to the rule)
Gymnastics or
or Yoga
or Martial Arts
o The pole vault
or the high jump (athletics, et al.)
With the verbPLAY
